Questions & Answers

What style(s) do you specialise in?

When shooting Weddings I prefer to take the natural route.  I don’t like to interfere with the natural flow of the day.   I’d say my style is traditional and photojournalism.

Will the photos be retouched?

All usable photos are retouched.  Every image is shot in Raw format (digital negative).  The  only enhancements that are made are … detail, sharpening, colour correction and cropping.

How many weddings do you shoot a year? Also, what’s your favorite part of a wedding day?

I currently shoot around 20 weddings a year.  My favourite part of the wedding day is photographing the Bride and Groom.  I always meet the happy couple a few months before the wedding and spend some time exchanging emails and phone calls.  This allows us all to feel relaxed with one and other and gives me the opportunity to photograph the warm intimate moments.

What exactly is included in your packages?

An example of my packages can be found here.  These are only examples and can be altered to suit your own needs.

How many hours of coverage do we get?  What is the charge for overtime?

I am relaxed with hours of coverage and you will not be charged any extra.

What is the deposit and total fee?

I usually like half of the total fee as a deposit.  This insures your wedding day in my diary.  The total fee is due a week or so before the wedding.  Prices for wedding packages can be found here.

Will you be my actual photographer, or will it be one of your associates?

I am always your actual photographer.  In some cases I may need an assistant .

Do you have backup photographers who will shoot the wedding if you’re sick?

If I happen to be sick on your wedding day I will always try to find a replacement wedding photographer.  If on the off chance I can’t find a replacement, a full refund is given.

How long after the wedding do we get to see the photos?

I always try my best to have all of your edited photos ready for you within 3 weeks.

How do you coordinate with my videographer?

I have shot loads of weddings with a videographer.  We always respect each other and often work together to insure the day goes as smoothly as possible.

What type of paper will you use for the prints and album?

All photos are printed in a very high quality photobook.  Individual prints can also be ordered.  Canvas and Acrylic prints are also available.  All on very high quality materials.

What are the restrictions for sharing photos online or for publication? Do you own the copyright to the photos?

You are free to share and copy all of your photos.  These photos belong to you.  The photographer always owns the copyright.  All this means is, if you decide to enter an image to a magazine or a competition you will need the photographers permission.

Do you bring your own lighting?

I try to use natural lighting wherever possible.  When additional lighting is needed I use flash, handheld lights and reflectors.

What will you wear?

I have attended weddings in the past as a guest and noticed that some photographers look quite scruffy.  I wear a suit.  I always dress as if I was a guest.
